IMNY and BOTW are putting together another great charity party in NYC during the SES NY 2008 week. The purpose of the party is to raise money and donate it to a charity that wins a series of online voting by the community. The charities are:
The charities will be voted on by the public (on the BOTW page) and the one with the most votes gets the funds! The winner will be announced March 6th.
The event will be held at the centrally located Black Finn (NYC Pub) on March 18th, 8pm-Midnight. Spreadthewordfolks! It should be a great time for a great cause.
Last weekend I went out with a couple of friends to the Exotics Rally 1st Annual Turkey Run for Charity. We had a good section of the LIE closed down for us and we really let it all hang out for a good cause. I participated in my E30 M3. It was tough keeping up with Gallardo's, GT3's and such, but none the less, it was an amazing time for a great cause. We raised a ton of money for INN - Interfaith Nutrition Network in Hempstead, Long Island. The stars of this show were definitely the Enzo, the Carrera GT, and the F40.
Here are some fun videos of the take-off from the meet up point in Jericho, and then on the highway:
I just want to encourage all New York City residents to stay healthy and avoid Trans Fats. You might access this information on avoiding trans fats and finding healthy alternatives.
Last week I visited one of the great, historical perfomance-bastions of entertainment in New York City, the Apollo Theater on 125th Street in Harlem. Wednesday night is amateur night and there were acts of all kinds, a smorgasbord of aspiring kid stars, aged R&B wannabes and even a rapping accordion player who got booed off in usual "hooting" fashion! Teen dance troops took the stage by storm and one man with a fantastic spoken word performance rocked the house - truly.
I highly recommend this as a night out with friends during the week. It's a great part of New York with so much deep cultural history and it's really worth it to go and check it out.
