Yahoo! Continues Mobile Banner Push

Yahoo! continues to employ display banners on its mobile web pages.  All during fashion week Yahoo! was promoting it's own content services along with Elle Magazine with banners for Fashion week.

Here are some of the example banners that they were using in New York:

Among the content that they promote on this search result page are Flikr photos, celebrity blogs, Elle content, links to Yahoo! News, Yahoo Local New York City Guide, and advertisers featured collections in Elle including Burbury, Armani and DK.

Yahoo is really pushing all of it's broad "portal" services in search these days and what better channel to promote it than tied to local events and local mobile banner advertising.

Now is Gone: Geoff Livingston - Livingston Buzz

Geoff Livingston of Buzz Bin has cited some of my blogging work at 10e20 for his new book Now is Gone.  As Geoff put it, the book "serves as a primer on new media for executives and entrepreneurs."  Mr. Brian Solis contributes to the book.

I'm looking forward to following the Now is Gone blog updates and the full Now is Gone copy.

FEC Will Not Regulate "Political" Blogs

The Washington Post has a brief article today announcing that the Federal Election Commission (FEC) will not regulate Political blogs as PACs.  Here is an official press release from the FEC regarding the Daily Kos (Kos Media, LLC) situation.  In a lot of ways this is a win for free speech, blogging and democracy on the web.
